As an interventional cardiologist, Dean Katsamakis, DO, performs a variety of procedures in the cardiac catheterization lab including interventional cardiac catheterization with dye, cardioversion, interventional coronary angiogram and coronary angioplasty and stents. He also cares for patients in the Cardiology Clinic treating a wide array of cardiac issues including managing blood pressure. He also utilizes an implantable device Cardiomems which is a sensor placed in the pulmonary artery during a right heart catheterization that allows for advanced monitoring in heart failure patients. These patients will be monitored through the device clinic at the Heart Center. He collaborates with a team of highly skilled cardiologists, interventional cardiologist, electrophysiologists and pulmonologists to provide the best care possible.
