Evapco Midwest in Greenup recently donated $3,500 to the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Foundation to assist patients receiving treatment in the Regional Cancer Center. Since 2019, Evapco’s annual cancer awareness shirt-design contests have raised more than $17,500.

The shirt design contest is offered to Evapco employees to raise funds, awareness and support for those struggling with the disease. This year’s winning design, by Evapco employee Sara Millsap, features a flag made-up of the various cancer ribbons to show support for people who have or are battling all the types of cancer.

Proceeds from sales accounted for the largest part of the donation, but office employees could also donate $1 or more for the privilege of wearing jeans on Wednesdays, and Evapco contributed to the overall donation.

“We love doing this contest every year, and it’s a great way to support the community,” Evapco General Manager Mike Giannavola said. “Every one of us knows someone who has been affected by cancer, and we want to help people fighting their own battles.”
