The Eastern Illinois University women’s basketball team recently donated to the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Foundation to support patients receiving care at the SBL Regional Cancer Center.

The Lady Panthers raised funds through the annual CARE game, which celebrates all cancer fighters in the community and raises funds for patients battling cancer. In conjunction with funds raised related to the game, a private donation after the game allowed the team to donate more than $10,000 in total. Since 2019, the EIU women’s basketball team has donated $105,834 to SBL through the CARE game.

“The Lady Panthers have supported the Regional Cancer Center for many years, and we are incredibly grateful for the impact they continue to make on the communities we serve,” said SBL Special Events Officer Kim Lockart.
