Agri-Fab of Sullivan has donated $30,000 to the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Foundation’s Expanding Hope Campaign to support the expansion of the Regional Cancer Center.
“This donation ties into our values,” said Deacon Patient, President of Agri-Fab. “At Agri-Fab, we are all about community, and this Cancer Center is important to our community. We all know someone who has been affected by cancer. I am personally inspired by these three employees who have battled cancer at Sarah Bush Lincoln.”
Pictured with the donation and Sarah Bush Lincoln President and CEO Kim Uphoff and Foundation Director Amy Card are Agri-Fab employees Cheryl Schisler, Caralea Smith and Bill Shain, all of whom have received care at the SBL Regional Cancer Center. Their experiences reflect the impact of local, compassionate cancer care and the importance of continued investment in these services.
“We are incredibly grateful to Agri-Fab for this generous gift,” said Amy Card, Director of the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Foundation. “Their support reflects a deep commitment to the health and well-being of our community and will help us continue meeting the growing needs of patients and families facing cancer.”
When the Regional Cancer Center opened in 2016, its 17 infusion bays comfortably served patients. Today, the Center provides nearly twice as many treatments, with annual visits rising from 56,000 in 2020 to more than 104,000 last year. The $17.2 million project will add 15,000 square feet to the existing 21,500-square-foot facility.
The Cancer Center expansion will include 34 chemotherapy infusion bays, expanded treatment areas, eight new exam rooms, a larger waiting room and additional parking. Dedicated space will also be created for non-oncology medical infusion.
