The SBL Bonutti Clinic, in partnership with the Effingham Art Guild and Effingham County Chamber of Commerce, recently hosted the annual Guild reception and chamber business after-hours event.
Twelve local artists were recognized as winners of the annual art contest; six artists received honorable mentions, which included $100 stipends for each, and six other artists won individual categories and received $250 each.
“The Effingham Art Guild continues to amaze us with the range of creativity and expression on display,” SBL Orthopedic Surgeon Peter Bonutti, MD, said. “Each piece hanging in this clinic tells a story, and together, they reflect the spirit of our community.”
“This clinic has a long tradition of supporting the Effingham Art Guild,” SBL President and CEO Kim Uphoff said. “The partnership between the Art Guild and the Bonutti Clinic continues to remind us that art plays an essential role in the well-being of both patients and caregivers alike.”
Dr. Bonutti and his brother, Boris, established the partnership with the Effingham Art Guild more than two decades ago. This year marks the 24th time the clinic has hosted the art reception.
Below are the six artists who received honorable mentions, with their pieces listed:

- Linda Wente – “Large Owl”
- Eileen Springer – “Sunset of the Brave”
