Input Being Collected for Community Health Needs Assessment

Information is being gathered from area residents for a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) with a goal of collecting information regarding health needs and social determinants of health. Public meetings will be held throughout the region and residents are invited to share their input regarding the most crucial health-related needs in their community.

The following is a list of the community meetings:

  • 1 to 3 pm, Thursday, April 11, Tuscola Community Building, 122 W. North Central, Tuscola
  • 10 to Noon, Friday, April 12, Elizabeth Titus Public Library, 2 West Water St., Sullivan
  • 1 to 3 pm, Tuesday, April 16, Newton Public Library, 100 S. Van Buren St., Newton
  • 10 am to Noon, Wednesday, April 17, First Christian Church, 200 SE 8th St., Casey
  • 1 to 3 pm, Thursday, April 18, Paris Carnegie Public Library, 207 S. Main St., Paris
  • 1 to 3 pm, Wednesday, April 24, CenterPoint Church, 1616 Veterans Ave., Vandalia
  • 10 am to Noon, Monday, April 29, Mattoon Train Depot, 1718 Broadway Ave., Mattoon
  • 1 to 3 pm, Monday, April 29, Charleston Public Library, 6th St. and Van Buren Ave., Charleston
  • 1 to 3 pm, Wednesday, May 1, Effingham County Office Building, 101 N. 4th St., Effingham
  • 1 to 3 pm, Thursday, May 2, Neal YMCA, 130 Courthouse Square, Toledo
  • 10 am to Noon, Friday, May 3, Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 12101 N. Chestnut St., Shelbyville

The Community Health Needs Assessment is conducted every three years and is a tool to better understand the unique needs of area communities. Data will be collected from various sources including from stakeholders of community service and non-profit groups, community members, and through an anonymous survey on the Sarah Bush Lincoln website.
