SBL Holiday Festival to Support Behavioral Health Services

October 24, 2023 11:01 a.m.

Share joy and give hope this November by supporting the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Foundation’s Holiday Festival, November 10 to 13.

Starting with an online auction at 8 am on Friday, November 10, the Festival will include a variety of ways for the community to get involved and support SBL Behavioral Health Services. Proceeds will help provide emergent needs for uninsured patients, resources for providers to use in therapy, assistance with the substance abuse crisis in the communities SBL serves and fund school assemblies to address mental heath needs of area youth.

The online auction runs through 8 pm on Monday, November 13, and features more than 70 items designed by SBL employees, area residents and businesses. It includes a wide variety of home décor and holiday items, handmade wooden trees, fresh greens from Hager Tree Farm and more. People are encouraged to register ahead of the online auction to receive updates and announcements. The link to register will be available later this month at sarahbush.org/holidayfestival.

The festival includes a gala and live auction on Saturday, November 11, at Unique Suites in Charleston. A cocktail hour begins at 5:30 pm, with dinner and live auction following at 7 pm. The auction features 31 elite packages, with Stokes Auctioneer Shawn Hamilton and Emcee Joe Dively, First Mid Chairman and CEO, adding fun and excitement. Tickets are still available for $85 each but are expected to sell fast. Call the SBL Health Foundation at 217-258-2511 to purchase tickets.

The live auction will also feature a live auction raffle. Raffle tickets are available for $100 each, and a drawing will be held right before the live auction begins. The winner of the drawing will choose any of the 31 live auction packages as their prize.

Community members can also purchase Memory Star ornaments. The ornaments can commemorate a loved one or recognize a SBL Hospice caregiver who made an impact through their work. Proceeds from Memory Star purchases will support an endowment for Willow Breeze, the SBL Hospice House, which helps cover the cost of room and board. Most insurance companies do not cover these expenses.

SBL Special Events Officer Kim Lockart said she is eagerly anticipating the community’s involvement in the event. “Participating in the Online Auction is a great way for people to enjoy this year’s Holiday Festival,” she said. “We are thrilled to offer some festive fun that will also bolster much needed services in the community.”

This year, SBL will also sell Holiday Festival T-shirts. Pre-orders are available on the SBL website.
