County Market in Mattoon donated a bottle of limited-edition Van Winkle bourbon to raffle at the Sarah Bush Lincoln golf benefit. The golf event will be held on Friday, June 3. Proceeds will benefit construction of the new SBL Hospice House.

The Van Winkle family of bourbons are some of the most highly allocated and coveted bourbons in the world. It’s hard to procure these bourbons, and they can command prices thousands of dollars above retail.

This bottle of Van Winkle Special Reserve, or “Lot B,” has received numerous industry awards. The sweet, full-bodied flavors of this special lot have been described by some fans as pure ‘nectar,’ with the 12-year aging process creating an incredible drinking experience. The bourbon is made by Buffalo Trace Distillery in Kentucky. Winners must be at least 21-years-old.

People may also purchase tickets for a chance to win a week-long vacation to a destination of your choice plus $1,000 travel cash and 40,0000 Delta sky miles. This prize offers a world of vacation options in desirable locations across six continents, so everyone can find a destination they want to visit. Special thanks to KC Summers for its generous donation of this Resort Vacation Certificate.

Raffle tickets for either prize are $10 each, and people need not be present on June 3 to win. For more information, to purchase raffle tickets or to register for the golf benefit, please contact Kim Lockart in the SBL Foundation office at (217) 258-2511.
