SBL Food and Nutrition Offers Mediterranean Diet Program

May 9, 2019 9:12 a.m.

Learn about the health benefits of the Mediterranean diet during a free program hosted by Sarah Bush Lincoln Food and Nutrition Services. The program begins at 6 pm, Tuesday, June 4, in the Lumpkin Family Center for Health Education, Washington Room, located on the north side of Health Center.

The heart-healthy Mediterranean diet is based on the traditional foods that people used to eat in countries like Italy and Greece back in 1960. Researchers noted that these people were exceptionally healthy and had a low risk of many lifestyle diseases. This program offers practical guidelines for incorporating Mediterranean-style cooking into daily meals.

Pre-registration is requested by Friday, May 31. For more information or to register, please call Food and Nutrition Services at 217 258-2130.
